Haven't posted in a while. It's been a crazy and wonderful few months. I came across this fascinating passage from a recording of Carl Twister Steward interviewing Wille Dixon in 1986 talking about Big Walter and Little Walter.
Dixon describes the extent of Big Walter's direct influence on Little Walter's technical approach and style, especially in the studio. To the extent where on occasions he is in fact playing and Little Walter is wrongly credited. For me, this re-enforced the incredible legacy of Big Walter who is often not held in the same regard as Little Walter. Based on this interview with Dixon, Walter Horton was the main man, who's innovation to the sound harmonica ultimately helped shape early Rock'n Roll.
Thanks for sharing the vid.
